Register a CamperVolunteer for Camp

Please review the following information:

Camp Healing Tree has worked really hard this year to make our registration process easier, smoother, and more efficient.

One notable change is that we're having you pick usernames and passwords. Why on Earth would we do that? So that you can take a break from your registration and come back and finish it later.

Additionally, you can come back and change information, if needed. There is also the option to add additional campers from your same family.

So, welcome to the new Camp Healing Tree online! Let's get started with the registration... Parents or Guardians, infomation for you is right below. Volunteers, you can skip below if you like.

Parents or Guardians and Campers:

The following is an overview of the registration process:

Step 1:
Parents or guardians, fill out a username, email address, and password for the site.
Step 2:
Parents or guardians, tell us about yourself. Just your name will do in this step.
Step 3:
Provide address and phone numbers for contact. This step is extremely important.
Step 4:
Add information for a camper. You can add additional campers, if needed, after you complete the registration process for the first child.
Step 5:
Provide some background such as school, grade, etc for your camper.
Step 6:
Tell us about the loss your camper experienced. You can add additional loved ones your camper lost after the registration is finished.
Step 7:
Tell us about your camper's emotional state.
Step 8:
Let us know any medical issues with your camper.
Step 9:
Tell us a little miscellaneous info like what shirt size your child wears, and how you heard about us.

That will complete the registration process. Beyond this, here is what will happen with processing your registration:

Initial Contact:
You will receive a phone call within roughly two weeks from a Camp Healing Tree staff member to verify all your information, and ask some additional questions.
Information Packet
You'll get an information packet in the mail. Inside, there are a few forms you need to fill out and return.
We're covering the postage and return envelope, so be sure to complete this step as quickly as possible.
Your camper registration is not complete until the forms are received with your required registration deposit.
Finally, 2nd Information Packet
Two weeks prior to camp, you will receive a second information packet with directions to camp and a few last minute items.

And that's it! So, let's get started...

Volunteers:

Volunteers are absolutely vital to the continued success of Camp Healing Tree. To learn about the volunteer jobs available at Camp Healing Tree this year, please visit this page.

Please note the certain restrictions on volunteers under the age of 18.

The following is an overview of your registration steps, and some important information.

Step 1:
Pick a username, password, and email address for the site.
Step 2:
Tell us some info about yourself such as your name, birthdate, and what you want on your name tag.
Step 3:
Tell us your best contact information. This is very important.
Step 4
Let us know if you're a new volunteer, or returning.
When we moved over to this nifty site, sadly we weren't able to bring a lot of our old stuff with us. If you're returning, thanks for your patience in the registration process!
Step 5
Let us know who referred you, and what hospice you'll be volunteering through.
If you're a returning volunteer from St. Vincent, we're very happy to have you back! You can pick any new hospice you like.
Step 6
Job selection. It's a biggie, but it's the most important step. Be sure to pay attention to the shifts for which you're volunteering as well. We need that info to make sure we have all shifts covered.
Step 7:
Let us know some of your preferences. There's going to be plenty enough candy and soda for all, but we like to tailor our purchases and supplies to your preferences wherever possible.

And that takes care of your volunteer registration. The following is an overview of the post-processing steps that may apply to you:

Initial Contact:
If you're a new volunteer, you'll get a phone call within roughly two weeks to schedule an in person interview.
Criminal Background Check
A criminal background check will be run on all new and returning volunteers every year.
Your volunteer registration is not complete until the both the results of your background check are returned, and a Camp Healing Tree director approves your registration.
Volunteer Training
All new volunteers are required to attend Volunteer Training on August 8th at Rhoades Elementary School. Maps and Directions are on the Maps page.
All new and returning Buddies and Facilitators are required to attend Buddy and Facilitator training as on August 17th.

And that's the whole process. So, let's get started...
